The Conservation Fund El Triunfo A.C. (FONCET) was established in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, on August 5, 2002.
This process involved the participation of the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas, through the Directorate of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, the Institute of Natural History and Ecology, the Mexican Fund for the Conservation of Nature, the Institute for Sustainable Development in Mesoamerica A.C. , Pronatura Sur, and four other individuals interested in the Fund but without institutional representation (Alfredo Cuarón, Claudia Virgen, Fulvio Eccardi, and Alejandro Hernández).

Combining experience with the energy of youth, the operational team is responsible for coordinating the organization activities. This includes fundraising efforts through participation in calls for proposals, donations from entrepreneurs and the general public, as well as the distribution of these resources in the field. They verify the results and analyze the impact of the projects being carried out. Additionally, they prepare reports and summaries for donors and publish and disseminate the results.
