FONCET’s work area was redefined in the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan with the following priority regions:

1. El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve and its area of ​​influence in the Sierra Madre and coast of Chiapas
2. Area of ​​influence and biological corridors with other neighboring Protected Natural Areas
3. Hydrological basin of the upper and middle Grijalva, Isthmus-Coast of Chiapas and Oaxaca, Upper Basin of the Usumacinta River.
