The administration of the Selva El Ocote Biosphere Reserve, with the aim of restoring the deciduous tropical forest, secured a donation for reforesting livestock areas with tree species and silvopastoral systems through the A Tree For You platform. They requested FONCET to be the recipient of the financial resources and to assist in integrating reports for this project. That’s why this project has been in implementation since last year, and it has successfully achieved the reforestation goal outlined in the project (118,000 trees). Activities will continue to maintain the plantation, replant individuals that did not establish successfully, and construct rainwater harvesting and storage systems that are part of the silvopastoral system.
